The Light Cavalry Band The Hub 10th Feb 2010 00:00 |
| in support of S.P.R.I.N.G (Supporting Parents and Relatives in Neo-Natal Grief)
After a successful concert in Feb 09, the Light Cavalry Band have agreed that the concerts in support of S.P.R.I.N.G. will become an annual event. The 2010 concert will be a Big Band Concert - come along and hear Glenn Miller and The Rat Pack along with other of your favourite sing-along songs – this Concert will have you tapping your toes and dancing in the aisles…......
The Light Cavalry Band was formed on the 12th of June 2006 following the amalgamation of The Royal Lancers Band and The Hussars and Light Dragoons in the reorganisation of Army Music. The Band is based in Bovington, Dorset and is one of only two Royal Armoured Corps bands still in existence today.
Under the Direction of Captain Tony Adams, the Light Cavalry Band have agreed to perform a concert to raise money for the S.P.R.I.N.G (Support for Parents and Relatives in Neo-natal Grief) Charity.
S.P.R.I.N.G was set up in 1998 to provide support to parents and relatives who have experienced the death of a baby during pregnancy, at, or just after birth. Run by a unique combination of bereaved parents, relatives and caring professionals, the aim of S.P.R.I.N.G is to befriend and support through grief. This is achieved by offering counselling, befriending and monthly support meetings. They also fund special facilities such as the S.P.R.I.N.G suite at Poole Maternity Unit to help parents and their families cope with the bereavement of a child.
Due to high demand we highly recommend booking in early to avoid disappointment. Ticket price is £7 and they are available from The Hub in Verwood on either www.thehubverwood.co.uk or Tel 01202 828740. Further information is available from Amanda Johnson on 07865914632.
