EDALE (Eastern Dorset Arts Leisure and Entertainment Forum)

EDALE is the cultural theme group serving both East Dorset and Christchurch cultural promoters and artists. The group exist to network, co promote and to collaborate on new community arts projects, such as The Sting in the Tale ‘A Festival of Stories’ and the quarterly arts/entertainment listing ‘The Big Cheese’.

As a cultural theme group we operate as an advisory group to any town or parish plan committee who would like assistance or guidance on cultural aspects of their planning process or help and relevant contacts to help them progress any artistic or cultural project.

The forum has a solid base of regular members who are all professionals in the art, entertainment and leisure sector and between the group exists many years experience for the community groups and newcomers to the industry to draw upon. Particularly in the field of event management, arts marketing and fund raising.

Should you or your group wish to know where to find an artist to work with a community group or where to find an audience for new clubs in your parish, EDALE can offer a wide range of resources and contacts who may be able to help. Or if you are an artist and you wish to introduce yourself and your work to the promoters in the District then this is the ideal forum.

If you would like a speaker from the cultural sector to come to your parish plan meeting or to talk to specific groups, again we have the people within our forum who may be able to provide someone.

We also welcome speakers to our meetings so if you have an exciting project to tell us about – please get in contact and let us know about it – it may be something an arts promoter may wish to collaborate with you about.

There is no cost or membership fee - anyone with a relevant interest is welcome to come and join us for a cup of tea, biscuit and debate about the culture and arts in our communities, but most of all to meet fellow promoters who are operating under the same constraints as you.
